Description
Bust started with a single curved gesture that suggested the swell of a shoulder, and I let that shape lead me through the rest of the painting. Working on heavyweight paper with acrylic, I built up layers of magenta, deep red, and dark teal, then scratched back into wet paint to reveal what was underneath. The surface holds both thick, confident strokes and thinner washes where the paper texture shows through. It commands attention without overwhelming a room. This piece feels alive on the wall — the colors shift depending on your light, and there’s always something new to notice in the marks.
